The Two Witnesses

THE TWO WITNESSES
Revelation Chapter 11

Who are the two witnesses of Revelation 11:3................? "
And I [God] will give power unto My two witnesses, and they shall prophesy 1,260 days."
We all know that the prophet Elijah is one of them, for he is named specifically in :

Malachi 4: 5, 6...
"Behold, I [God] will send you Elijah the prophet BEFORE the coming of the Great and dreadful DAY OF THE LORD.
"And he [Elijah] shall turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse."

Jesus also referred to Elijah's return in Matthew 17:11: "Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things."
We see then that Elijah ["Eliyahu" in Hebrew ] comes to the Israeli people BEFORE the Day of the LORD .

THE OTHER WITNESS

Now, the other witness is also very easy to identify, for Scripture tells us plainly who he is.
Yes, in Rev. 10:11 it clearly states (KJV Authorized Version):
"And He [God...God's Voice heard from heaven Rev.10:8 ] said unto me:
'Thou' [meaning JOHN, writer of the Apocalypse/Revelation]
'must prophesy AGAIN before many peoples, and nations, and tongues and kings."

That's sounds pretty clear to us that God is referring to John the Revelator for a FUTURE mission.

So then, John the Apostle--
"Boanerges..son of thunder", Mark 3:17--- is the other witness.
We must remember that the Apostle John was on the isle of Patmos at the time of his writing of the Book of Revelation, and that he was about 90 years of age.
There is no evidence or documentation anywhere that John ever had a traveling ministry again. So when God commanded John to prophesy AGAIN before many peoples, nations, tongues and kings, we realize that that command has yet to be fulfilled.

John will thus be the main witness to the Gentile nations
(Hamitic and Japhetic)...."many nations and kings" (the 'goyem').
Elijah will be the witness for the Israeli and World Wide Remnant Jews.

These two both come together at the time of war and peril,
( Arab war ?) for they are dressed in"sackcloth and ashes", denoting a time of great mourning.

These two prophets of God:

Why all this judgmental power, you ask? Because men and nations fear not God,
nor give Him the honor and reverence due Him (obedience).
See Jeremiah Chapter 2 and Jeremiah Chapter 25.

Salvation
When the two witnesses shall have finished their testimony---that of turning the hearts of the fathers toward the children and the hearts of the children toward the fathers 1 John 2: 12--14 ---then these two will be killed by the antichrist, the Beast. This death is allowed by God, for the Beast would have no power over them, except it were given to him by God [John 19:11]. Their death ensures " a better resurrection" [Hebrews 11: 35], for they have surrendered to martyrdom.

Actually, the word 'witness' is rooted in the word 'martyr'. These two words were considered one and the same word in the Early Church, and will be considered one and the same again in the Last Days.

Revelation 11: 7, 8 says: "And when they shall have finished their testimony, the Beast, that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit (bonded with satan) shall make war against them (John and Elijah) and shall overcome them" ( only by the permissive will of God).
"And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city which spiritually is called 'Sodom' ( filled with homosexuality ) and 'Egypt'( totally of the world, the flesh and the devil ) where also Our Lord was crucified" [ Jerusalem ].

We must keep in mind that Jerusalem in the Last Days is completely over trodden with Gentiles...it is now as a Gentile city under the 42 month reign of the Beast. The Remnant is hidden away ( Rev. 12 ) , and the rest of Jewry goes into captivity [Daniel 11:33 ]. Under the antichristian and immoral rule of the Beast, homosexuality, idolatry, astrology, and drugs will prevail. Hence, the referral to Jerusalem as "Sodom" and "Egypt".

Into the Fourth Day ... like Lazarus ( John 11 )
"And they of the people and kindreds and tongues and nations (all the world) shall see [ by any and all media displays ] their dead bodies 3 and 1/2 days, and shall not suffer their dead bodies to be put in graves."( Rev. 11:9)
(Will they lie in Zarafat Square?]
"And they that dwell upon the earth shall rejoice over them, and make merry, and shall send gifts one to another; because these two prophets tormented them that dwelt on the earth." Rev. 11:10

So it sounds like there will be a Christmas-like holiday on the spot.
What revelry! What gaiety! What a SHOCK when...........
"And after 3 and 1/2 days the Spirit of Life from God entered into them, and they STOOD upon their feet!!
"And great fear fell upon them which saw them." Our God truly is an Awesome God.

"And they heard a great voice from heaven saying unto them,
'Come up hither.' "And they ascended up to heaven in a cloud; And their enemies beheld them." Rev. 11: 11,12
"And the same hour was there a great earthquake, and 1/10 of the city (Jerusalem) fell, and in the earthquake were slain 7,000 men."
God warns in His Holy Word: "Touch not Mine anointed" .... 1 Chronicles 16:22 and Psalm 105: 15

Major quake to kill between 5,000--10,000 in Israel --- July 31, 2003
" Between 5,000 and 10,000 people would probably die if an earthquake hit Israel, seismologist Yaakov Heichal warned a joint session of the Knesset Interior and Environment Committee and Science and Technology Committee yesterday. "

"The entire country is in danger due to its small size and population centers located just dozens of kilometers from danger zones," said Shapira. "An earthquake also damages areas that aren't so close [to the danger zones], and one could even hit in the next five minutes

GALLICANTU [Cockcrowing]

This Resurrection/Ascension Day could well be the Cockcrowing -Rapture Day referred to in our
Chapter 5 of Apocalyptic Hope. For those believers who are alive and remain this far into the Great Tribulation, this is their Blessed Hope, for they "are not appointed unto wrath" (of the seven vials of Rev. 16 ).
After all these saints are gone, most likely the finality of the 7 vials of God's wrath are poured out upon the unbelieving world, and the quick collapse of our eco-system takes place in a very, very short period of time. ( approximately the 30 days of Dan. 12 adjustment of time ? )

GLEANINGS-REMNANT

When the Resurrection/Ascension/Rapture of all the Great Tribulation saints take place...then there are only two Godly groups left....the Millennial-Survivors and the Jewish Remnant
(Israeli and World-wide).

The Israeli Remnant is mentioned at the time of the Great Earthquake in the city of Jerusalem, for Rev. 11:13 says, "and the remnant were affrighted, and gave glory to the God of heaven."
It is because this verse is mentioned here, that we believe the Israeli Remnant is hidden underneath the city of Jerusalem, rather than at Petra.
Their Transfiguration ( I Corinthians 15: 51,52 "changed") takes place at the return of our Lord to the Mount of Olives, so we believe.

Thus will be completed the 4 Translations (changes) contained in
Mark 13:35...evening, midnight, cockcrowing and morning...of which the two witnesses take part at the time of "cockcrowing", just before the dawn of Jesus' Millennium. (morning)
The Millennial survivors will inherit the kingdom. [Matt.25:31-34]

We are indeed living in exciting times, and to behold--- on television and web cast ---
two men such as Elijah and John the Revelator being taken up into heaven, after lying dead in the street for three days and a half , is worthy of our holy fear, reverence and awe.

"I AM the Resurrection and the Life:
he that believeth in Me, though he were dead,
yet shall he live.
And whosoever liveth and believeth in Me
shall never die.
Believest thou this? "
