'US radar could jeopardize IDF secrets'
-- Oct. 4, 2008 --Barak approved
According to the current plan, US soldiers will control the radar, which will be connected to the Israeli Air Force's Arrow control room in Palmahim
The Jerusalem Post
reported on Sunday that an IDF request to permit Israeli soldiers to control the radar had been declined. .....
The magazine said that Israeli defense experts feared that waves from the X-band radar might throw off the accuracy of a new Gil anti-tank missile also being tested in the Negev. "The Bush Administration is in the mood to give us anything, as long as we don't attack Iran," said one senior official. "So why did we take this radar?"

Israel prepared for a separate, independent strike upon Iran over nuke weapons -- Aug. 29, 2008
Jerusalem has put preparations for a separate, independent military strike by Israel in high gear.
Because of Israel's lack of strategic depth, Jerusalem has consistently warned over the past years it will not settle for a 'wait and see' approach and retaliate in case of attack, but rather use preemption to prevent any risk of being hit in the first place.
Hearing his hosts [ Switzerland, Austria ] speak of their future investments [in Iranian energy for 10 years ] , Sneh replied quietly "it's a shame,
because Ido will light all this up." He was referring to Maj. Gen. Ido Nehushtan, the recently appointed commander of the Israeli Air Force and the man most likely to be the one to orchestrate Israel's attack on Iran's nuclear facilities, should this become the necessity.

According to the report, which The Jerusalem Post could not verify independently, Hizbullah would begin a massive rocket onslaught on targets reaching deep into Israel's civilian underbelly in case the Jewish State would launch an attack on Iran.

Shlomo Gronich : Journey to the Source
-- June 3, 2008 ( Songwriter, Musical Album )
"It takes my whole soul into it. I started working on this journey three years ago when I received by fax an ancient prayer taken from the Sabbath morning prayer, Ilu Finu: "Even if our mouth would be as full of song like the sea, we could not fully praise You..." When I read it, I was so moved by the purity and meaning of the wise words. Since I am not a religious person, it was my first time reading it. Religious people read it every Shabbat morning, but I was not familiar with this prayer. I took the prayer from the fax. I went to the piano. I turned on the tape, closed my eyes, and the music came as a whole. It was a very exciting experience. I really felt it was the first time it was happening to me like that. So strong. This was the trigger to this journey.

Foxes "guarding" henhouses in Israel
-- May 4, 2008
Hundreds of armed Fatah loyalists were deployed in Jenin Saturday as the newest and most trained members of the Palestinian Authority armed police force...
The 450 trained PLO veterans hail from Jordan and received training from United States General Keith Dayton and his men.
Left-wing groups and even MK Avigdor Lieberman (Yisrael Beiteinu) have increasingly called for international troops to be deployed in areas currently under control of Fatah and Hamas.

Yehuda HaKohen of the student activist Zionist Freedom Alliance said, "This new Fatah force is a police force of gangsters who oppress their own people and kill our people. The only reason that they are being allowed to have an army is that their corrupt leadership [Abbas] is pursuing the agenda of the Bush administration to shrink and weaken the State of Israel. In this local conflict, both sides are being armed by the same western government. If western powers would stop interfering in our local conflict, maybe it will be easier to realize peace in our time."

Israel may strike Damascus -- March 17, 2008 --- please see Isaiah 17
Israel has secretly warned Syria that it may strike the country if Hizbullah attacks the Jewish state, Reuters reported on Friday.
According to senior Israeli and European officials quoted by the news agency, later that month Israel secretly conveyed a message to Damascus through a third party that it would hold it accountable for any Hizbullah assault.
Syria has to understand there is a price for its use of proxy terrorism, especially as Damascus is itself a proxy - the long-arm of Iran."
A European source said the message made it clear that Syria could be targeted, even if Hizbullah attacked from Lebanese soil.

Carter is part of the so-called Elders Group
Carter is part of the so-called Elders Group, assembled last July [ 2007] by former South African President Nelson Mandela. The group, including former U.N. Secretary-General Kofi Annan, recently visited Darfur, Sudan
One possibility Carter is exploring is whether the group, chaired by South African Bishop
Desmond Tutu, might weigh in similarly on the Palestinian-Israeli question, said former Carter aide Robert Pastor, interim co-director of the Elders Group
There was no immediate response
from the White House or the State Department about the question of whether Carter might be called upon to help break the potentially dangerous impasse in the U.S.-Mideast relations, much as he used informal diplomacy to broker compromises with North Korea and Haiti a decade ago

Nativ, formally known as the Liaison Bureau, is an Israeli organization that maintained contact with Jews living in the Soviet bloc during the Cold War and encouraged immigration to Israel. Until now, it has never operated in any Western country, but Avigdor Lieberman, until recently minister for strategic affairs, with responsibility for Nativ, decided that it should start operations among Germany's 200,000 Jews, most of whom originate from the former Soviet Union.
